We dive into the Eight Limbs of Yoga and teach how to consistently invite these practices into your day to day life. We focus on developing techniques that help with enhancing well-being, bringing in more self love and happiness, developing clarity and a calm and stable mindset, as well as creating harmony when responding to challenging circumstances that life can sometimes throw our way. We share the simplicity in a philosophy which can sometimes seem quite complex.
We also teach the Eightfold Path by giving tangible tools to explore a deeper meaning to life. This will open new doorways of possibility and guide you towards a loving relationship with yourself and those you love. We are incredibly passionate about this powerful part of the training because it will undoubtedly transform your life.
Pranayama
Learn different Meditation techniques for your home practice and become confident in teaching them to others. We give you a taste of different practices with a strong focus on the transformative practice of Zazen so it becomes familiar and can be used in daily practice.
You will also become confident in understanding several breathing rhythms and develop your teaching skills to instruct others on using these powerful methods.
Explore ways to enhance your creativity and bring variety into a class by learning different ways to sequence poses and how to manage a classroom environment effectively.
You will discover the art of giving a range of options and layering postures in a way that your teaching is accessible to all levels of practice from beginners to experienced practitioners.
Adjusting
Postures will be broken down into their structural components in a way that can be easily understood. You will learn how to verbally cue and physically adjust different body types in classes by understanding individuals’ bodies and how to effectively support any injuries which you may come across in your teaching.
You will also gain an understanding of the central nervous system, the inner workings of the body, and how our current lives can impact this. You will be given the tools to support and heal yourself so that you can effectively help others to do the same.
and Observation
You will learn specific methods, which you will put into practice throughout the training, to help refine your home practice and develop your teaching skills. You will have the opportunity to teach Yoga to your peers and the public, as well as observe classes taught by your lead trainers, with the option of taking notes.
Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, incorporates all aspects of life; maintaining physical health plus focusing on the metaphysical and emotional aspects of being human.
Ayurveda empowers us with wisdom by gently guiding us away from the disease mindset and instead helps to develop a sense of self-awareness and an understanding of the mind-body connection so we can help to heal ourselves and others.
Using these principles you will learn how to live the best life possible, grow through adversity and embrace the challenges that come with change.
Restorative yoga works with activating the parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS). You will learn how the PSNS is responsible for balancing the body and how to bring the response system back into equilibrium.
This deeply nourishing method takes the nervous system out of the ‘flight, fight or freeze’ response resulting in relaxing and calming the adrenal glands and endocrine system. You will develop different techniques used in restorative yoga, including the art of blanket origami, the effective use of props and heavy weighted blankets to support the body so that no strain or striving occurs.
Yoga class
With all of the support you need there will be ample time in organising and preparing to teach your first yoga class to the public. We will hold your hand all the way by joining you for the class and give you valuable feedback to refine your teaching skills.
